Not enough ground clearance in transport.

Full stroke on cylinder not obtained.

Extend cylinder to full stroke. Bleed cylinder, if necessary. (See BLEEDING DEPTH CONTROL CYLINDERS in Service section.)

Tire inflation too low.

Inflate to correct pressure. (See CHECKING TIRE PRESSURES in Service section.)

Machine not level.

Level machine. (See LEVELING MACHINE in Operating Machine section.)

Machine not stable in operation.

Over-powered.

Follow recommended tractor sizes. (See Specifications section.)

Operating at high speed and shallow depth or disk gangs out of ground.

Lower disk gangs or adjust or add stabilizer wheels.

Machine not level.

Level machine. (See LEVELING MACHINE in Operating Machine section.)

Symptom Problem Solution

Machine does not follow tractor in field.

Standard not uniformly located on frame, or unequal number on each side of center.

Reposition standards.

Unequal tire pressure.

Correct tire pressure. (See CHECKING TIRE PRESSURE in Service section.)

Unequal depth adjustment.

Rephase depth control and disk gang hydraulic systems.

Machine not level.

Level machine. (See LEVELING MACHINE in Operating Machine section.)

In field operation, back of machine too low.

Excessive tool suck, causing rear of machine to be lower than front.

Level machine. (See LEVELING MACHINE In Operating Machine section.)

Disk gangs running too deep.

Raise gangs.

In field operation, front of machine too low.

Machine not set level; insufficient sweep penetration.

Level machine, or adjust depth. (See LEVELING MACHINE In Operating Machine section.)

Ridging or "windrowing" trash at edges of machine.

Disk gangs not positioned properly on frame.

Check locations of disk gangs.

Machine is "nose low" in operation.

Level machine front-to-rear. Adjust turnbuckle so machine runs level under power.

Wings "drooping".

Adjust wing-depth cylinder eyebolts.

Excess speed.

Do not operate faster than 16 km/h (10 mph).

Excess depth.

Do not operate deeper than 127 mm (5 in.).

Disks penetrating too deep in light soil.

Raise disk gangs as much as necessary. (See ADJUSTING DISK GANG DEPTH in Operating Machine section.)

Harrow not adjusted properly.

Set harrow more aggressively.

OUO6061,0002345 -19-15MAY08-2/5

Symptom Problem Solution

Disk gang will not slice trash.

Machine operating "nose high".

Level frame front-to-rear in field position.

Disk gang depth too shallow.

Lower disk gangs. (See ADJUSTING DISK GANG DEPTH in Operating Machine section.)

Wrong direction of travel.

Travel diagonally across trash.

Machine leaves "clods" or "slabs".

Wet soil conditions.

Wait for dryer conditions.

Disk gang too aggressive.

Raise disk gang as much as necessary. (See ADJUSTING DISK GANG DEPTH in Operating Machine section.)

Spike-tooth harrow at too steep an angle.

Adjust spikes to 45° angle. (See ADJUSTING SPIKE-TOOTH HARROW ANGLE in Operating Machine section.)

Frame bowed down at front and back.

Tubing straightness tolerance and weight acting on long frame.

A bow of approximately 38 mm (1-1/2 in.) may be present when transporting in raised position. Bow should disappear in field operation.

Gangs not penetrating.

Disk gangs running too shallow.

Lower gangs. (See ADJUSTING DISK GANG DEPTH in Operating Machine section.)

Excessive penetration of gangs.

Disk gangs running too deep.

Raise gangs. (See ADJUSTING DISK GANG DEPTH in Operating Machine section.)

OUO6061,0002345 -19-15MAY08-3/5

Symptom Problem Solution

Gang assembly does not revolve.

Obstruction, causing braking action.

Check for roots, rocks or mud.

Disk gangs not lubricated.

Lubricate bearings. (See LUBRICATE DISK GANG BEARINGS in Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

Excessive penetration.

Raise gangs. (See ADJUSTING DISK GANG DEPTH in Operating Machine section.)

Improperly adjusted.

Adjust scrapers. (See ADJUSTING DISK SCRAPERS in Operating Machine section.)

Wings do not unfold or fold.

5-SECTION ONLY-connector not plugged in to tractor.

5-SECTION ONLY-Connect 7-pin connector to tractor. (See PREPARING TO OPERATE MACHINE IN FIELD in Operating Machine section.)

5-SECTION ONLY-missing 12 volts at 7-Pin connector.

Check circuit. (See TROUBLESHOOTING 5-SECTION MACHINE WING FOLDING OPERATION in this section.)

Lower rolling baskets-if equipped. (See TROUBLESHOOTING 5-SECTION MACHINE WING FOLDING OPERATION in this section.)

Air in cylinders.

Bleed system. (See BLEEDING DEPTH CONTROL and WING-FOLD CYLINDERS in Service section.)

Machine does not raise or lower.

Hydraulic lock-up valve closed.

Open hydraulic lock-up valve.

Wings not level in field operation.

Wings not adjusted for level operation.

Adjust for level operation. (See LEVELING WINGS-SIDE-TO-SIDE in Operating Machine section.)
