Leveling Machine-Fore-Aft

IMPORTANT: To level machine correctly, it MUST BE LEVELED IN THE PROPER SEQUENCE as shown.

  • FIRST Level Machine Fore/Aft.

  • SECOND Level Wings Side-To-Side.

  • THIRD Level Disk Gangs.

If leveling machine is not done in this sequence, machine will not be level and will not function correctly.

NOTE: Initial dealer assembly machine leveling should be done on a flat level concrete surface. Final machine leveling should be done in field at ground level. See OPERATOR'S MANUAL for proper leveling procedure.

causym CAUTION: Do not unscrew turnbuckle (B) to expose more than 51 mm (2 in.) of thread on either eyebolt. Eyebolts may pull out of tube end, resulting in machine dropping unexpectedly, and causing injury or death to you or others.

IMPORTANT: Check tires for correct inflation before leveling.

Perform following procedure on a level surface.

NOTE: Machine may need adjusting when moving from field to field or when using a tractor with a different drawbar height.

1. PRELIMINARY LEVELING: Unfold wings to field position.

2. Lower main frame so sweeps are 51 mm (2 in.) above level surface.

3. Measure ground clearance at main frame rear corners.

4. Remove cotter pin and pin retaining wrench (A) on turnbuckle (B). Raise lock (C) and turn turnbuckle using wrench until frame ground clearance is slightly higher than 6.4-12.7 mm (1/4-1/2 in.) in front. This will compensate for natural draft forces during operation. Lower lock and replace wrench on machine.

5. Lock wrench on turnbuckle using pin and cotter pin.

IMPORTANT: For best results perform final leveling in field under normal operating conditions, at desired depth, and normal speed.

6. FINAL LEVELING: Observe machine from side as it travels past in field. Adjust turnbuckle to provide level fore-aft main frame.
