Leveling Disk Gangs-5-Section

IMPORTANT: To level machine correctly, it MUST BE LEVELED IN THE PROPER SEQUENCE as shown.

  • FIRST Level Machine Fore/Aft.

  • SECOND Level Wings Side-To-Side.

  • THIRD Level Disk Gangs.

If leveling machine is not done in this sequence, machine will not be level and will not function correctly.

IMPORTANT: Check tires for correct inflation before leveling.

Perform following procedure on a level surface.

Rephase depth control cylinders before leveling.

1. Raise machine until standards are 51 mm (2 in.) above ground.

Push SCV III forward to extend hydraulic cylinders and fully lower gangs.

causym CAUTION: Maintain at least a full nut engagement from end of eyebolt thread. Eyebolt may pull out of bracket (D) resulting in disk gang dropping unexpectedly, causing serious injury or death to you or others.

NOTE: Right main frame disk gang is nonadjustable on 5-section machines.

2. Loosen front and rear nuts (A and C) on eyelet (B) on main frame and wing frames.

3. Main Frame- Turn nut (C) on left side main frame until disks are even with right main frame disks. Tighten nut (A).

Wing Frames- Turn nut (C) until disks are even with main frame disks. Tighten nut (A). Repeat process on other wings.

4. Use depth indicator as a guide to determine relative gang depth.
