causym CAUTION: Tandem wheel axle is heavy and awkward to handle and can cause serious injury to you or others. Support axle while removing axle with proper support.

1. Remove wheels and support machine. (See REPAIR TIRE in this section.)

2. Remove 1 x 6 in. carriage bolt (M) and lock nut (N).

3. Remove cap screws (C) and lock nuts (D).

4. Remove hub and spindle assemblies (A), and parts (E-J).

5. Inspect the following part for wear or damage.

  • (A) Bent, broken, or worn hubs or spindles
  • (B) Bent, broken, or worn axle support
  • (E, F) Distorted or worn spacers
  • (G, H) Rough or worn bearings or cups
  • (I) Distorted or worn bearing spacers
  • (J) Loose or torn seals

6. Replace worn hardware.
