A - Preheating Indicator Do not use ether or starting fluids to start engine with a cold weather starting device. Ether is highly flammable and could ignite on engines with a cold weather starting device.Machine is equipped with an intake air preheating system. An electric heating element warms the intake air. Turn off switches, including radio and dome light. Place multifunction control handle in “Park”. Put throttle in slow idle position (approximately 1/3 of full throttle). Turn key (B) to “Run” position. The intake air preheating system will be activated, as necessary, according to fuel temperature. The preheating indicator light will illumnate from 0 to 30 seconds. IMPORTANT: Avoid starter damage. Do not operate starter more than 30 seconds at a time. If engine does not start, wait at least two minutes before trying again. When preheating indicator light goes out, turn key switch to “Start” position to engage starter. Release key when engine starts. Idle engine at 900 rpm until it warms to operating temperature.
