The foam marker system consists of foam concentrate tank (A), control box (G), rinse tank (B), switch on the multifunction control handle (D), the GreenStar display (C), foam generating heads (E), collectors (F) and interconnecting wire harnesses and hoses. A filler cap is located at the top of the foam concentrate tank (A) for adding foam concentrate. An outlet port is provided at the bottom of the tank. The control box pulls water from the sprayer rinse tank and foam concentrate from the foam concentrate tank. The control unit box contains a 12-volt motor driven rotary vane compressor (H) which supplies the air for the system. The control box mixes the water and foam concentrate and routes the mix and air to the foam generator located near the end of the boom. The foam generator mixes the liquid and air to generate foam. The foam then runs to the drops where it collects and drops to the field. Output rate and water to foam concentrate ratio are controlled by needle valves (I and K). The starting positions for setting the needle valves are shown in the following table. 12V Compressor |
|---|
Mix Ratio | Needle Valve Setting (Number of turns open) |
|---|
| | Concentrate | Water | 80:1 | 1.75 | 5.5 | 100:1 | 1.5 | 5.5 |
Settings can be fine tuned by the operator as needed after first setup of the foamer. Once these are set they should not need readjusted unless the foam concentrate is changed to a different brand or product. There is a priming valve (J) in the control box that bypasses the output lines to help prime the pump if it has run dry. Foam marker operation is controlled through the SprayStar system. The operator has three choices, “OFF”, “MANUAL” and “AUTO”. When “MANUAL” is selected the operator controls which side of the marker system is producing and dropping foam. When “AUTO” is selected the foam marker automatically switches from one side to the other when the solution master spray “ON/OFF” switch is turned on and off. Switch (D) on multifunction control handle is used to select right-hand or left-hand foam markers. Foam marker system is off when both switches are pushed. | OUO6092,00000FE-19-20090708 |
