Adjusting Boom Transport Position

1. Unfold boom.

2. Level boom tips to horizontal.

3. Lift center frame to highest position.

4. Fold in left-hand and right-hand boom wings.

5. Tilt both wings inward.

NOTE: At this point, both boom wings should be directly above boom cradles without touching handrails or inner side of transport cradle.

If either boom wing is touching a handrail or inner side of transport cradle, perform following steps.

6. Relieve pressure from fold cylinder that needs adjusted by unfolding boom wing a few inches.

7. Loosen jam nut (A) and adjust collar (B) IN to move boom away from handrails.

8. Fold and tilt booms in to check adjustment.

NOTE: If boom is does not go into cradle, or is forced into the transport cradle when lowered, perform following steps.

9. Loosen jam nut (A) and adjust collar (B) OUT to move boom inward.

NOTE: Fold and tilt booms in to recheck adjustment.

10. Tighten jam nuts.

NOTE: Because the above adjustments may have modified other boom components, adjust equalizer and rear cables per procedures in this section.
