Using a Booster Battery or Charger
CAUTION:
Gas given off by batteries is explosive. Keep sparks and flames away from batteries. Make last connection and first disconnection at a point away from booster batteries.
IMPORTANT:
Be sure polarity is correct before making connections. Reversed polarity will damage electrical system or possibly cause a battery explosion.
If a booster battery is used, two or more batteries cannot be used in series; they must be parallel. Be sure polarity is correct before making connections. Reversed polarity will damage electrical system or possibly cause a battery explosion.
Booster Battery
1.
Attach one cable (red) to the remote positive terminal (A) of the starter and positive terminal of booster battery.
2.
Attach the second (black) battery cable to negative terminal of booster battery. Attach other end to ground terminal (B) on side of engine.
3.
Remove cable from ground terminal first when disconnecting. Then disconnect positive terminal.
Battery Charger
1.
Attach positive charger lead to positive remote terminal (A) with charger in OFF position. Attach negative charger lead to ground terminal (B) on side of engine.
IMPORTANT:
Set battery charger at nominal 12 volts and not more than 16 volts.
2.
Switch charger to ON and charge battery according to charger manufacturer's instructions.
