Bleed Wing-Fold Hydraulic System

  1. Avoid hazards due to escaping fluid under pressure. See AVOID HIGH PRESSURE FLUIDS in this manual.

Wheel modules retract and extend during this wing-fold procedure and can cause serious injury to you or others. Stay away from all moving and pivoting parts during procedure.

Ensure that cylinders are supported firmly with wood block (A) before bleeding cylinders. Nylon strap (B) could also be used to retain wheel module cylinders. Failure to do this may result in cylinder falling and causing serious injury to you or others.

Follow bleed procedure EXACTLY as shown. Hydraulic reservoir MUST be filled before bleeding and kept FULL throughout entire bleed procedure.

Bleed rate times are calculated using a flow rate of 113 Lpm (30 gal/min) per minute. If performing bleed procedure using a tractor with less hydraulic flow, bleed times MUST be adjusted. Example: If tractor hydraulic pump is running at 57 Lpm (15 gal/min), then double all bleed times.

If proper responses are not observed during bleed procedure, refer to Troubleshooting section in Operator's Manual.

    Outer Wing Fold Cylinder

    A - Wooden Block

    B - Nylon Strap

Verify wing-fold cylinders are retained with either wood block (A) or nylon strap (B).

  2. Verify 7-pin warning light harness is plugged into tractor.

  3. Verify that tractor is full of hydraulic oil.

  4. Run tractor to 1800 rpm.

  5. During extension, inner wing fold cylinders extend and outer cylinders retract.

Extend inner wing-fold cylinder rods fully for 4 minutes.

  6. RELEASE switch and retract wing-fold cylinder rods fully for 4 minutes.

  7. Fully extend and retract all cylinders at least two times, maintaining hydraulic pressure at full extension for at least 30 seconds.

  8. Extend cylinders one more time, maintaining pressure at full extension for one minute.

Inner wing cylinders should be fully extended. Outer wing cylinders should be fully retracted.

  9. If an oil leak is found during bleed procedure, stop oil leak then restart procedure.

Attach Outer Wing-Fold Cylinder Rod End

    A - Hinge Plates

    B - Drilled Pin, 1.25 x 8.19 in

Attach rod end of outer wing-fold cylinder between hinge plates (A) using 1.25 x 8.19 in drilled pin (B) and 21/64 x 1-3/4 in spring pins. Repeat process on other cylinders.

Extra Washers Take Slack Out Of Switch Activation Plate

    A - Hinge Plate

    B - Drilled Pin, 1-1/4 x 7-1/2 in. (4 Used)

    C - Switch Activation Plate

    D - Washer, 1.28 x 2.37 x 0.25 in (2 Used Per Location)

    E - Washer, 1-9/32 x 2 x 0.105 in (2 Used)

Attach left front inner wing-fold cylinder rod end between hinge plates (A) using 1-1/4 x 7-1/2 in drilled pin (B).

  11. Use both washers (E) at same location to shim switch activation plate.

Attach switch activation plate (C) using two 1.28 x 2.37 x 0.25 in washers (D), and two 21/64 x 1-3/4 in spring pins. Take slack out of switch activation plate using extra washers (E) as needed.

  12. Attach other inner wing cylinders using 1-1/4 x 7-1/2 in drilled pin, two 1.28 x 2.37 x 0.25 in washers, and two 21/64 x 1-3/4 in spring pins.

  13. CONDUCT STATIC LEAK TEST:

    1. Lower machine so sweeps or harrow tines are 50 mm (2 in) off ground.

    2. Disconnect all hydraulic hoses from tractor.

    3. Measure cylinder rod lengths, then wait 1 hour and recheck measurements.

      • If cylinder rod moves LESS than 6.3 mm (1/4 in)—Machine OK.
      • If cylinder rod moves MORE than 6.3 mm (1/4 in)—Repeat complete bleed procedure.
