Removing Hydraulic Cylinders CAUTION:
 X9811-UN-23AUG88 Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate skin causing serious injury to you or others. Avoid hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury may call Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, or other knowledgeable medical source. Fully lower machine and wings (if equipped) and standards. Shut off tractor engine and relieve pressure in all hydraulic lines. For procedures to relieve pressure refer to Tractor Operator’s Manual. CAUTION: If wing cylinders must be removed with wings in folded position, be sure to chain wings together to prevent wing from falling and causing serious injury or death to you or others. Before reinstalling, cylinder must be fully charged with oil. See INSTALLING AND BLEEDING WING FOLD CYLINDERS in this section.
Disconnect hoses at tractor and from cylinder ports. Cover tractor outlets, cylinder ports and hose ends. Unpin cylinder(s). Check, and repair, if necessary. See your John Deere dealer.
