Transport Safely

When transporting machine on a road or highway at night or during
day, use lights and devices for adequate warning to operators of other
vehicles. In this regard, check local governmental regulations. Various
safety lights and devices are available from your John Deere dealer.
Keep safety items in good condition. Replace damaged or missing items.
Keep SMV emblem, reflectors, and warning lights clean and visible
from rear.
Beware of overhead wires and know transport width of your machine.

Latch tractor brakes together. Stop slowly.
Travel at a reasonable, safe speed. Shift tractor to a lower
gear when transporting down steep slopes, traveling over rough ground,
and turning.
Integral Machine—Observe following:

DO NOT exceed 16 km/h (10 mph).

For adequate transport clearance on machine, do not use tractor
with rear tires smaller than 18.4 x 38.
Drawn Machine—Observe following:
-
DO NOT exceed 32 km/h (20 mph).

Always pin drawbar in center position for ALL tractors when
transporting.

See your John Deere dealer for a safety chain with a strength
rating equal to or greater than gross weight of towed machine. Do
not use safety chain for towing.
