Adjusting Closing Wheels—If Equipped

  1. IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to wheels, do not operate at an angle in hard or extremely wet soil conditions.

NOTE: Closing wheel down pressure is preset at regular standard pressure from factory.

Wheels can be assembled with center-to-center spacing of 0—203 mm (0—8 in.) and angled from 0—10° in either direction. As a good starting position, set wheel spacing at 127 mm (5 in.) and angle at 0° (facing straight ahead).

For narrow and wide wheel spacings with wheels facing straight ahead, place 5/8 x 1-3/4 in. Grade 5 Carriage bolts (B) in holes (C) and (E).

For mid-range wheel spacings with wheels facing straight ahead or set at an angle, place Carriage bolts in slots (D) and (E).

NOTE: Carriage bolts must be inserted from the bottom so flange nuts face upward.

Loosen 5/8 in. lock nuts on Carriage bolts.
