Determining Front Ballast—Integral

IMPORTANT: If total implement code exceeds maximum implement code listed for a particular tractor model, implement configuration is not recommended for that tractor.

  1. Find moment code for main frame size. (See IMPLEMENT CODE TABLES.) Enter value on line 1 under Moment Code in Determining Front Ballast—Your Implement Code table. In example, 84 identifies a 6 m (19 ft 6 in.) main frame size.

  2. Enter quantity of options for machine. In example, there are seven standards, two parking stands, seven coulters, and seven closing wheels. For optional setback bars, distribute number of standards and closing wheels accordingly.

  3. Enter moment codes for machine options on applicable lines.

  4. Multiply quantity times given moment code as required. In example, seven coulters multiplied by four equals 28.

  5. Add numbers in right-hand column to arrive at total implement code. In example, this is 314.

  6. (See your tractor Operator's Manual to determine required tractor ballast.)
