A - Regular Set Screws, 5/8 x 1 in.

B - Cone-point Set Screw, 5/8 x 1-1/2 in.

C - Deflection Distance

D - Lock Nut, Grade 8, 3/4 in.

E - Dimension, 38 mm (1-1/2 in.)

F - Dimension, 52 mm (2-1/16 in.)

CAUTION: Coulter blades are heavy and sharp. If coulter blade drops, serious injury to you or others may result. Keep away from and out from under coulter blade when making adjustments.

NOTE: To prevent accumulation of residue on front of standard, set coulter deep enough to cut roots below surface.

For maximum residue flow and improved performance, offset coulter shafts forward.

If set too deep, coulter pushes residue instead of cutting it.

It may be necessary to raise coulter for hard ground conditions.

If coulter is not aligned with center of standard, excess surface disturbance may occur.

Adjust depth and alignment by loosening jam nuts and 5/8 x 1 in. regular set screws (A). Raise or lower and rotate coulter to desired position. Tighten set screws and jam nuts.

IMPORTANT: 9-Standard Drawn Machine—Dimension (F) from roll pin to collar MUST be adjusted correctly to prevent tire damage.

9-Standard Drawn Machine—Check that dimension is NO Less than 52 mm (2-1/16 in.). Adjust as needed.

IMPORTANT: On machine with optional drawn hitch, coulters must not contact depth control wheel arms. Adjust swing angles of affected coulters to limit movement of coulters toward wheel arms.

Adjust swing angle by loosening jam nuts and 5/8 x 1-1/2 in. cone-point set screw (B) in locking collar. Rotate collar to desired position. Tighten set screw and jam nuts.

Set coulter depth to approximately 76 mm (3 in.) to cut residue in ordinary conditions.

To reduce surface disturbance from standard, set coulter depth to approximately 152—203 mm (6—8 in.).

IMPORTANT: Damage to machine can occur if thread length on spring rod end is longer than 45 mm (1-3/4 in.).

Deflection distance (C) and down force amount is adjusted by 3/4 in. Grade 8 lock nut (D). Exposed spring rod thread length is set at factory to 38 mm (1-1/2 in.) (E). Shorter thread length will increase deflection and decrease down force. Longer thread length will decrease deflection and increase down force.
