    B - Drawn Equipment

Back tractor into position, and attach hitch link to drawbar (A). Be sure hitch pin is retained with locking lever.

  2. CAUTION: A runaway machine can cause serious injury or death to you or others. A safety chain will help control drawn equipment (B) if it accidentally separates from drawbar while transporting.

Attach chain to tractor drawbar support using appropriate adapter parts. Provide only enough slack in chain to permit turning. (See your John Deere dealer for a chain with a strength rating equal to or greater than gross weight of towed machine.)

  3. Turn tractor engine OFF.

  4. CAUTION: When transporting machine on a road or highway at night or during day, use lights and devices for adequate warning to operators of other vehicles. Check local governmental regulations. Various safety lights and devices are available from your John Deere dealer. Keep safety items in good condition. Replace missing or damaged items.

Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate skin causing serious injury. Avoid hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected in skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

Hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age, and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.

IMPORTANT: All couplers must be clear of debris, dust, and sand. Use protective caps on fluid openings until ready to make connection. Foreign material can damage hydraulic system.

Correctly attach hoses to couplers. If hose connections are reversed, machine will not respond to electronic controls (if equipped).
