Preparing for Storage

1. Clean and store machine on hard, level surface in dry place, if possible.

2. Lubricate machine. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

3. Inspect for damaged or loose parts. Replace and tighten parts.

4. Repaint, as necessary, to prevent rust.

5. Coat shanks and coulter blades with John Deere Soft Black Coating, grease, or oil.

6. Apply grease to exposed cylinder rods.

7. Folding Machine with Folded Wings—Before disconnecting folding cylinder hoses, relieve hydraulic pressure either by positioning SCV lever in FLOAT position or by shutting off tractor engine and cycling SCV lever back and forth three times.

8. Drawn Machine—Lower machine to ground. Fully retract depth control cylinders.

9. Folding and Drawn Machines—Disconnect hoses from tractor and store on hose holder.
