Using John Deere Spindle Cleaner

CAUTION: Spindle cleaner can cause serious illness or death if ingested and can cause eye irritation. Keep spindle cleaner out of reach of children. Wash hands after handling cleaner. This machine is equipped with number 3 nozzles. These nozzles are smaller which results in lower solution usage and longer intervals between tank refills.

The use of John Deere spindle cleaner is recommended over wetting agents due to superior performance, especially under adverse conditions. Use of John Deere spindle cleaner results in the following:

• Reduced moistener solution usage
• Increased productivity due to less time filling tank
• Drier doors and associated picking parts
• Less mud buildup
• Less cleaning of row units
• Elimination of green stain and sticky spindles
• More efficient doffing
• Less moistener system maintenance (adjustment and replacement of pads)

John Deere Spindle Cleaner Dilution Ratios

The recommended spindle cleaner dilution ratio is 1.5 parts cleaner per 100 parts water. The solution tank capacity is 1363 L (360 gal.). Therefore, a full tank of solution requires 20.45 L (5.4 gal.) spindle cleaner.

A sight gauge on the solution tank shows the approximate amount of solution remaining in the tank. The following chart shows the amount of spindle cleaner and water required to refill the tank based on the solution level. For example: If sight gauge indicates that 946 L (250 gal.) of solution remains in tank, add 6.2 L (1.6 gal.) spindle cleaner and approximately 416 L (110 gal.) water to refill tank.
