Replacing Fan Belt

NOTE: Fan drive belt is equipped with an automatic tensioner which does not require adjustment.

   A - Cap Screw

   B - Cap Screw and Nut

   C - Cap Screw

   D - Left-Hand Engine Side Shield

   E - Breaker Bar

   Raise Hood.

2. Remove cap screw (A and C) and cap screw and nut (B), lift left-hand engine side shield (D) off of alignment studs.

3. Release tension on belt using a 13 mm (1/2 in.) breaker bar (E).

4. Remove belt from alternator pulley.

5. Carefully release tensioner.

6. Remove belt from remaining pulleys.

7. Replace belt in reverse order of removal. (See Fan Belt Routing in this section for diagram.)

8. Install side shield and lower hood.
