B - Moistener Pad

C - Holes

D - Pad Fins

E - Pad Stem

IMPORTANT: To enable proper access to moistener column, remove excess cotton and leaf trash from fins and side of moistener column, before beginning service.

  1. Make a hooked pad removal tool (A) from heavy wire.

  2. Remove moistener pad (B) with removal tool.

  3. Inspect moistener pads for excessive wear or damage. If excessive wear or damage is evident, replace pad. If reusing moistener pad, clean holes (C) before installing.

  4. IMPORTANT: Excessive spindle or bushing wear can result if pads are not installed properly. Install pads so fins are perpendicular to pad stem.

To install pad, start pad on rear of pad holder, then pull pad over front of holder. Pad fins (D) must be perpendicular to pad stem (E) to prevent premature spindle and bushing wear.
