Manual Lubrication Procedure

CAUTION: If you or others become entangled in unit moving parts, serious injury or death can result. Always stay away from units and be careful of moving parts.

NOTE: Use this manual procedure ONLY if the Onboard Lube System fails. (See your John Deere dealer for system repair).

A - Manifold

1. Remove access cover on left-hand side of row unit. Slowly rotate units and pump recommended grease into manifold (A).

2. Pump grease into manifold until grease is present at two of the top six spindles at the dust collars on every picker bar.

3. Verify the following components have also received proper lubrication;

   • Sun gear housing bearings.
   • Upper gear train.
   • Cam tracks of both drums.
   
   

4. Repeat procedure for each unit.
