Starting Engine in Cold Weather

A - Ether Starting Aid Button
CAUTION: Starting fluid (ether) is highly flammable and can
cause serious injury or death to you or others if it is accidentally
ignited. DO NOT use near flames, sparks, or fire. Read and follow
the directions on the starting fluid container.
IMPORTANT: To avoid engine damage, inject fluid only in small
amounts and only while the engine is cranking. DO NOT depress button
longer than one second at a time.
NOTE: If temperature is less than -5 °C (23 °F), it
may be necessary to use ether starting aid.
Turn key to START position. As engine starts to turn over, press
ether starting aid button (A). Release button after approximately
1 second.
Release key when engine starts. If engine does not start, press
starting aid button for another second and continue cranking.
Do not operate starter for more than 30 seconds at a time. If
engine does not start, wait at least 2 minutes before trying again.
