A - Forming Belts (11 used)

B - Splice Pin

1. Check all forming belts (A) for wear or damage.

2. Check all belt laces for damage and pullout from belts. If any lace rivets have pulled through a belt section, replace belt.

3. Check all splice pins (B) for wear or damage. Replace pins if broken, or if more than one-third of pin thickness is worn. Do not deform ends of pins when installing new ones.

4. To remove pin, grip pin with pliers and rotate pin 90 degrees (1/4 turn) before pulling pin out.

5. Insert new pin with notches facing flat sides of belts. Be careful not to deform ends of pin. Rotate pin 90 degrees after pin is fully inserted. Make sure that lacing segments seat in pin notches.
