Adjusting Lower Feeder Belt Tracking

  1. IMPORTANT: Feeder belt tension is controlled by position of tensioning roller (C) at front of feeder. Rear drive roller position is set at factory and must not be used to adjust belt tension. DO NOT adjust position of rear drive roller.

Lower module builder into transport position. (See POSITIONING MACHINE FOR TRANSPORT in Operating the Machine section.)

  2. Place machine in feeder belt service mode and raise accumulator. (See CHECKING LOWER FEEDER BELT TRACKING in this section.)

  3. IMPORTANT: Make adjustments to the side that belt is tracking toward.

When increasing tension, make sure that draw pin on mounting plate does not bend.

Loosen jam nut (A) on side of machine requiring adjustment.

  4. Mark location of mounting plate (E) on feeder side panel. Loosen nuts (D) retaining mounting plate.

  5. Using location mark as a reference, tighten adjusting nut (B) slightly to move end of tensioning roll (C) approximately 2 mm (0.08 in.) forward. This adjustment increases tension on slack side of belt.

  6. Ensure that shanks of carriage bolts are properly seated and tighten nuts (D).

  7. Tighten jam nut (A).

  8. Remove blocking from under accumulator. Press button B on tether control unit to lower accumulator to operating position.

  9. Highlight transport mode icon at top of display screen and press confirm button.

  10. Press button C on tether control unit to return machine to harvest configuration.

  11. Return tether control to storage bracket in power module.

  12. Run machine in field until 6 modules have been built.

  13. Recheck belt tracking. (See CHECKING LOWER FEEDER BELT TRACKING in this section.)

  14. NOTE: If tightening tension on slack side does not improve tracking, repeat procedure to loosen tension on tighter side of belt and recheck.

Repeat tracking adjustment as needed until belt is tracking properly.
