General Information
The process of forming, wrapping, and ejecting a round module
involves a number of major components that must operate in the proper
sequence. Each component must be operating at the proper speed or
be in the correct position before the next component in the sequence
can start operating.
The machine is equipped with the following types of sensors
to provide signals and operating data to the respective control unit.
(See SENSOR LOCATION DIAGRAMS in this section.)
-
Speed sensors
-
Position sensors
-
Pressure transducers
-
Infrared (IR) sensors
Each control unit is programmed with a set of diagnostic test
codes (DTCs). When out-of-limit or abnormal parameters are detected,
applicable DTCs and active alarm messages are sent to the armrest
display unit (ADU).
In addition to active alarm messages, diagnostic readings screens
can be accessed through the diagnostics and calibration tab on the
home page screen of the ADU. The diagnostic readings screens provide
detailed operating information pertaining to the selected subsystem.
This information includes switch settings, sensor output data, and
operating parameter settings. (See DIAGNOSTICS AND CALIBRATION SCREENS
in the CommandCenter Display Screens section.)
Sensor Alignment and Adjustment

N92329-UN-15APR11
Speed Sensor Adjustment
A - Nut
B - Sensor
C - Gap
If speed sensors readings are out of range or fluctuate, check
gap and alignment and adjust as follows:
NOTE: A standard tie-band is approximately 1 mm thick and can
be used to set sensor gap.
Speed sensor adjustment. Loosen nuts
(A) and adjust position of sensor (B) to set gap (C) to approximately
1 mm (0.039 in.). Make sure that sensor tip is centered over width
of gear or tone wheel.
Fan speed sensor adjustment. Loosen
lock nut and screw fan speed sensor in until it contacts fan rotor.
Unscrew sensor two full turns and tighten lock nut.
