Remove and Clean Fuel Strainer
|
Every 250 Hours or As Needed
|
Inspect fuel strainer every 50 hours and clean if buildup is
visible on strainer screen or if service code is displayed on armrest
display unit (ADU). Otherwise, remove and clean every 250 hours.
NOTE: Do not clean fuel strainer and change primary and final
fuel filters at the same time. Doing so makes it difficult to restart
the machine. Perform this procedure, then run the engine before changing
fuel filters.

If machine has not been running recently, start engine and run
3—5 minutes at slow idle.

Shut off engine.

Close fuel shutoff valve (A).

Thoroughly clean dirt and debris from fuel strainer assembly
(B) and surrounding area.

Remove strainer bowl (C) from strainer base (D) using a 25 mm
(1 in.) socket on bottom of bowl.

Clean filter screen (E) and strainer bowl.
-
Inspect O-ring (F) for damage. Replace if necessary.

Install screen and strainer bowl in reverse order of removal.
-
Open fuel shutoff valve.
-
Start engine and run 3—5 minutes at slow idle.
