CAUTION: Fuel is highly flammable and can cause serious injury or death to you or others if it spills from fuel tank and is ignited. Do not refuel machine while smoking or when near an open flame or spark. Always stop engine before refueling. Fill fuel tank outdoors. Be sure to replace fuel fill cap and rear screen after filling. Always clean up spilled fuel.

  1. If engine has not been operated for a long time, open drain petcock and allow any accumulated water to drain out. Close petcock.

  2. Remove fuel fill cap (A).

  3. Remove fuel screen from tank neck and clean if needed. Replace screen.

  4. NOTE: View sight gauge while fueling to help prevent overfilling.

    Observe sight gauge (B) and fill tank with proper grade of diesel fuel. (See DIESEL FUEL in Fuels, Lubricants and Coolants section.)

  5. Replace fuel fill cap.
