Jacking Up Rear Axle

  1. CAUTION: Machine is heavy and can fall or roll causing serious injury or death to you or others. Use a jack with a minimum jacking capability of 18,144 kg (20 tons). Machine must be on a flat, level surface with transmission in neutral, park brake switch engaged and key removed.

    Machine must be in harvest mode before jacking procedure is performed.

    IMPORTANT: Machine damage can occur. Jack up machine only at designated jacking locations.

    Park machine in harvest mode on a flat, level surface. (See POSITIONING MACHINE FOR HARVEST in Operating the Machine section.)

    A - Handler Hydraulic Lock Valve

    B - Axle Stop (Storage Position)

    Engage handler hydraulic lock valve (A) in locked position.



  3. Verify that axle stops (B) are in storage position.

    A - Steel Plate, Minimum 6.35 mm (0.25 in.) Thickness

    B - Jack

    Position jack on a solid, flat surface beneath axle.



  5. Position steel plate (A) between jack (B) and axle to avoid damage to axle housing.

  6. CAUTION: Machine is heavy and can fall or roll causing serious injury or death to you or others. Clear all bystanders away from machine before jacking up machine.

    Clear all bystanders away from machine, then using jack, raise machine only enough to change or repair tire.

  7. Lower machine to ground and verify that axle stops are in storage position.

  8. Disengage handler hydraulic lock valve.
