Draining and Filling Unit Drive Gearbox

Drain and Replace Unit Drive Gearbox Oil	Every Year

NOTE: Check oil level and refill any time hydraulic motor is removed and installed on gearbox. It is normal for a small quantity of oil to be lost during this operation with the O-ring seal at the motor.

   A - Fill Plug

   B - Drain Plug

   Park machine on a level surface and lower row units to the ground.

2. IMPORTANT: Do not pressure wash directly at seals or vent plug.

   Clean dirt from area around fill and drain plugs.

3. Inspect gearbox for leaks and repair as necessary.

4. Remove fill plug (A).

5. Remove drain plug (B) and drain gearbox oil into suitable container.

6. Install drain plug.

7. IMPORTANT: Using lubricants that are not recommended can result in high start-up torques, rapid wear, residue buildup, and damage to components. Always follow recommended service intervals.

   Use only Hy-Gard™ J20C oil when filling gearbox.

   Fill row unit drive gearbox through fill plug port until oil reaches bottom of port.

8. Install fill plug.
