Clean Solution Nozzles

Every 12 Hours

Each picking unit consists of two in-line drums. Each drum is equipped with a filter screen, nozzle, and solution distributor which supplies solution to the moistener column pads.

The cotton picker is shipped with number 3 nozzles as standard equipment which are recommended for use with John Deere Spindle Cleaner. If larger nozzles are required, number 6 nozzles can be installed to double the solution flow.

Inspect and clean each filter screen and nozzle daily as follows.

  1. Remove nozzle assembly (A) from housing (B).

  2. Remove nut (C) from nozzle fitting (D).

  3. Remove nozzle (E), filter screen (F), and O-ring (G).

  4. Clean nozzle and screen with water.

  5. Inspect O-ring and replace as necessary.

  6. Install O-ring and filter screen in nozzle fitting.

  7. NOTE: When installing nozzles, do not overtighten. Flow of solution can be restricted.

Place nut over nozzle and attach to nozzle fitting. Do not overtighten.

  8. Install nozzle assembly into housing.
