Replace Primary and Secondary Fuel Filter Elements

    A - Access Panel

    B - Fuel Shutoff Valve

    C - Drain Valve

    D - Primary Fuel Filter

    E - WIF Sensor Connector

    F - Secondary Fuel Filter

    Remove access panel (A) and thoroughly clean exterior of filter elements and filter mounting areas.



  2. Close fuel shutoff valve (B).

  3. CAUTION: Fuel in filters may be under pressure. Open drain valve on bottom of primary filter to relieve pressure before removing filter.

    NOTE: Use a catch pan when draining fuel and when removing filters from the machine.

    Open drain valve (C) on bottom of primary fuel filter (D) and drain water and contaminants into a suitable container.

  4. Disconnect wiring harness from water in fuel (WIF) sensor connector (E) in primary fuel filter.

  5. IMPORTANT: Always replace both filters at the same time.

    NOTE: Additional fuel will drain from filter housings.

    Remove primary fuel filter and secondary fuel filter (F) from machine using suitable filter wrench.

  6. Remove WIF sensor from old primary filter. Inspect O-ring and replace as necessary.

  7. Install WIF sensor in new primary fuel filter. Tighten to specification.

  8. IMPORTANT: Do NOT prefill fuel filters with fuel.

    NOTE: Lubricate filter seals with diesel fuel before installing filters.

    Install new secondary fuel filter and primary fuel filter on machine. Tighten 1/2 turn after seal contacts filter housing.

  9. Connect wiring harness to WIF sensor.

  10. Open fuel shutoff valve.

  11. Turn key switch to ON for 60 seconds to allow fuel pump to prime system.

  12. Start engine and run 3—5 minutes at slow idle.
