Operator Presence System Check
CAUTION: Make sure that everyone and everything is clear of
row units before starting units. If the system does not operate as
described in the following steps, see your John Deere dealer. DO NOT
attempt to make adjustments or repairs yourself. Failure to adhere
to these directives can result in serious injury or death to you or
others.
FOUR STEP CHECK
Check system for proper operation by performing the following
procedures in the order listed.
Step One

Verify that park brake is engaged in manual mode (indicator
light on).

Verify that multifunction control handle is in neutral.

Sit squarely in seat. Start engine, and run at idle.

Press down and move row units switch to ON.
-
Lower units into header height control sensing position.
-
Move multifunction control handle forward approximately 1/4
of the way.
-
Verify that row units start operating and remain operating.
If not, see your John Deere dealer. DO NOT attempt to make adjustments
or repairs yourself.
Step Two
-
Raise completely off operator's seat, then sit back down within
2 seconds.
-
Verify that row units continue to operate with no indication
of stopping.
Step Three
-
Remain in operator's seat for 10 seconds before proceeding.

Raise completely off seat. Wait a minimum of 6 seconds before
sitting back down.

Verify that row units stop operating within 5 seconds of raising
off seat.
-
Verify that row units DO NOT resume operation after sitting
back down (until STEP FOUR is completed).
Step Four
-
While sitting in operator's seat, return multifunction control
handle to neutral position.
-
Move row units switch to OFF position.
-
Press down and move row units switch forward to ON position.
-
Move multifunction control handle forward approximately 1/4
of the way.
-
Verify that row units begin operating again.
