Bleed Service Brakes
CAUTION: Service brake system operates at high pressure. To
avoid the risk of injury to yourself or bystanders, DO NOT attempt
to bleed the brake system at the caliper.
-
Extend axles to widest position
-
Fully depress the brake pedal 15-20 times. After releasing pedal
each time wait 2 seconds before fully depressing pedal again.
-
Slowly drive machine forward and check service brake operation.
The brake calipers are the lowest point of the system. The brake
valve is the highest point. If the system has any air in it, the air
will rise to the valve, where it is removed by cycling the brake pedal
and pausing. The brake calipers DO NOT have bleed screws.
The service brakes are a full pressure system. Hydraulic pressure
and flow is applied until the desired pressure setting is reached
or the brake pedal is released. This will compress any remaining air
in the system and allow it to provide proper braking after bleeding
procedure has been performed.
