All hydraulic system fails to function.

Bad fuse.

Replace fuse.

 

Low oil supply.

Fill oil to correct fill specification. (See Check Hydraulic Oil Level—Daily in Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

 

Engine RPM set too low.

Run engine at high idle.

 

Clogged suction line.

Clean line.

 

Damaged pump drive coupling.

Replace coupling.

 

Pump faulty.

Replace pump.

Oil escapes at breather in reservoir cap.

Reservoir over-filled.

Reduce oil to correct fill specification. (See Check Hydraulic Oil Level—Daily in Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

 

Excessive speed on rough terrain.

Select slower target speed.

 

Driving on steep slopes.

Stay off slopes to steep for operation.

Booms level or fold too fast.

Incorrect orifice, or none in work port.

Use correct orifices, properly installed. (See your John Deere dealer.)

Lift arms drop too fast.

Incorrect orifice, or none in boom valve.

Use correct orifices, properly installed. (See your John Deere dealer.)

Booms fold too slow.

Plugged orifice.

Remove orifice, clean and reinstall.

 

Incorrect orifice.

Install correct orifice. (See your John Deere dealer.)

Some functions work erratically or not at all.

Low oil.

Fill tank to proper level.

 

Loose or disconnected wires at switch or solenoid.

Check and repair connections.

 

Failed solenoid coil.

Replace coil.

Erratic steering.

Hydraulic oil overheated.

Fill tank to proper level.

Clean oil cooler and screens.

 

Pump faulty.

Replace pump.

 

AutoTrac slow to acquire line or sluggish response.

Clean AutoTrac strainer. (See Clean AutoTrac Strainer—As Required in Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

All hydraulic functions but one do not work or are slow.

Check valve stuck open in load sense line of function that works properly.

Clean or replace check valve or (see your John Deere dealer).

Sluggish or slow rate control, can not meet speed or pressure requirements, must drive at too low of speed.

Plugged hydraulic compensator strainer.

Remove, inspect and clean strainer. (See your John Deere dealer.)

One hydraulic function fails to work properly.

Bad fuse.

Replace.

 

Bad switch.

Repair or replace.

 

Check valve sticks shut in load sense line of hydraulic valve.

Clean or replace check valve.

 

Solenoid or hydraulic function faulty.

Repair or replace.

 

Hydraulic spool not shifting properly.

Clean or replace or (see your John Deere dealer).
