CAUTION:
Avoid possible injury or death from a runaway machine. DO NOT start engine by shorting across starter terminals.
Machine will start in gear if normal starting circuitry is bypassed. Start engine only from operator's seat.
1.
Turn battery key switch on.
2.
Ensure park brake is on and that all functions are in the OFF or NEUTRAL position.
3.
Make sure engine speed control lever is in the idle position.
4.
Sound horn.
NOTE:
Ensure that engine compartment doors are closed.
5.
Turn ignition key switch clockwise to the START position to crank the engine. Do Not crank the engine for more than 20 seconds. Wait 10 seconds before trying again. If the engine fails to start after two or three tries, return key to OFF and wait two
|
minutes before trying again. When the engine starts, release the key so that it returns to the ON position.
6.
After the engine starts, check all gauges and warning lights for normal operation. If operation is not normal, stop the engine and determine the cause.
7.
Let engine idle for 3 to 5 minutes before increasing engine speed. After increasing engine speed to approximately 1500 rpm, turn on all harvesting functions. Run harvester at this speed until engine is at normal operating temperature (between 77° C [170° F] and 90° C [195° F]).
NOTE:
NEVER rev up the engine and then shut it off. When this occurs, the turbocharger will spin freely before it stops and it will not get any lubrication from the engine. This can quickly damage the turbocharger.
NOTE:
Always operate harvester with engine at full throttle.
