Fill Cooling System

1. Close petcocks on engine.

2. To help avoid air pockets, add coolant slowly. Fill at 11 L (3 US gallons) per minute or less.

3. The factory recommended antifreeze is JD Cool Gard pre-diluted antifreeze. JD antifreeze/coolant can also be used in either a pre-diluted mixture or as a concentrate mixed with 40 to 60 percent of quality distilled water.

4. Fill the radiator to the bottom of the fill neck.

IMPORTANT: Air must be expelled from cooling system when system is refilled. Loosen temperature sending unit fitting and open petcock in

thermostat housing to allow air to escape when filling system. Retighten fitting or plug after filling cooling system. Check for leaks.

5. Inspect radiator cap, if gasket is damaged, replace cap. Start engine and observe coolant level. Add coolant, if necessary, when the level stabilizes.

6. Stop the engine and install radiator cap (A).

7. Every 25 hours reverse blow or wash the radiator to remove accumulated dirt and trash.
