Topping System
The gathering discs, located on each side of the topper, gather the cane tops and feed them to the topper severing disc, located in the center of the topper. The topper severing disc is bi-rotational. The rotational direction of the disc determines if the severed top is thrown left or right. This direction is operator selectable. Once the cane is topped, the severed tops are discharged away from the harvester and the crop by the rotary motion of the collectors.
Always
allow topper to come to a complete stop when changing rotational direction.
