Radial Tires
Radial tires are available for the rear of the harvester. Construction and performance characteristics of radial drive tires are considerably different from those of bias ply tires. Radial tires have stiff belts in the tread area that restrict growth and stabilize the lugs when they contact the ground. Radial tires have more supple sidewalls than bias tires which, in combination with stiff belts, provide traction and efficiency superior to bias tires.
Proper radial tire inflation, shown here, causes the least amount of wear and optimum traction. Properly inflated radial tires show bulging in the sidewalls unlike bias tires.
