The following is the proper procedure for tightening the track hardware. The initial torque draws the parts together tightly, an additional 1/3 turn gives the bolt a stretch for good retention. Stretching stresses the bolt until some permanent deformation occurs. This deformation ensures that the bolts maximum clamping force is used. This is called the torque-turn method.

Lubricate the bolt threads.

Install bolts and nuts, with the rounded side of the nut against the face of the chain link. Tighten the 5/8" bolts to 400 N·m (300 ± 30 lb-ft).
3.
Using the proper tools, tighten an additional 1/3 turn.
