Changing Basecutter Oil

1. Park harvester level in order to get the proper basecutter angle.
2. Remove bolts (A) and rubber side shield (B). Remove the magnetic drain plugs (C) on the bottom side of the basecutter gearbox and the magnetic drain plugs(D) on each leg. Allow the oil to drain from all three locations into an appropriate container. Dispose of oil according to company and government guidelines.

NOTE: Once the harvester begins working, it is recommended that you check the grease capacity in the legs every 250 hours. This is accomplished by pumping fresh grease into the zerk until grease comes out of the 5 psi check valve which is also located on the legs.

3. Fill with gear oil through fill plug opening (B). Allow oil to settle in gearbox and add more, if necessary. Oil level should be at the middle of the sight gauge.
4. Once the proper oil level is obtained, replace fill plug (B) and replace rubber side shield.
