Changing Chopper Gearbox Oil

Change chopper gearbox oil every 1000 hours.

1. Start engine and engage harvester functions at full throttle to warm the gear oil.

2. Turn off harvester functions and engine.

3. Park harvester level to allow oil to drain properly.

4. Remove filler cap (C) and drain plug (A) and allow oil to completely drain into an appropriate container. Dispose of oil according to company and government guidelines.

5. After draining oil, replace drain plug (A).

6. Add gear oil slowly through filler port (C), gear oil is heavy and needs time to settle. Oil level should be at the top of sight gauge (B).

NOTE: Some locations change the chopper gearbox oil at every 250 hours due to the harvesters working 24 hours per day. Please use your own discretion.
