A - Tractor hitch center link


CAUTION: Help prevent bodily injury or death caused by entanglement in rotating driveline or blades. Entanglement in rotating driveline or being struck by knives can cause serious injury or death. Before making any adjustments:

  1. Park machine on a level surface.
  2. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "PARK".
  3. Disengage PTO.
  4. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.
  5. Wait until all moving parts have stopped.
  6. Disconnect PTO driveline from tractor.

  2. Set gauge roller (and skid plate for 390 mowers) cutting height position. (See SETTING CUTTING HEIGHT in Preparing the mower section.)

    IMPORTANT: Improper tractor center link adjustment may affect the mower’s cutting height settings.

  3. Adjust tractor center link (A) until gear case support plate is horizontal, adjust as necessary to match the actual cutting height with the desired cutting height previously set.

  4. Set lower limit on tractor rockshaft control. (See your tractor Operator’s manual.)
