Knives have unequal weight.

Damaged rotor.

Repair or replace rotor as needed. (See your John Deere dealer).

 

Damaged rotor bearing.

Replace bearing. (See your John Deere dealer).

Belt breakage

Incorrect belt tension.

Adjust belt tension. (See ADJUSTING DRIVE BELT in Service section).

 

Misaligned pulleys.

Align pulleys. (See PULLEY ALIGNMENT in Service section).

 

Crop residue in pulleys area.

Clean side shield.

Excessive noise from mower

Gear case oil level too low.

Add oil to recommended level. (See ADDING OIL TO GEAR CASE in Lubrication and Maintenance section).

 

Bearing failure.

Replace bearing. (See your John Deere dealer).

 

Gear failure in gear case.

Inspect gear case components and replace as needed. (See your John Deere dealer).

Rotor does not turn

Broken belt.
