Operating the PTO

causym CAUTION: Avoid personal injury. Stop the engine and allow the PTO driveline to stop before connecting, adjusting, cleaning or lubricating PTO-driven equipment.

Always disengage the PTO when it is not in use.

PTO does NOT disengage when operator leaves seat.

PTO can be engaged and disengaged on the move without using the clutch, and while under load. When a PTO is engaged, the relevant light (B) comes on.

Lift and turn rotary switch (A) clockwise to engage PTO. Push down on switch to disengage PTO.

NOTE: If the engine is switched off and then restarted while the PTO is running, the PTO will not operate. Even so, light (B) continues to shine and flash. Switch off PTO and then restart.

If the operator leaves his seat while the PTO is switched on, an audible signal will sound, the "CAUTION" light flashes and the light (B) glows, as a warning that the PTO is still engaged.

If the PTO does not reach a speed of 100 rpm within 20 seconds of being engaged, PTO will switch off automatically.

If the operator leaves his seat within 15 seconds of engaging the PTO, the system will monitor PTO speed for a further 5 seconds. If 100 rpm have not been reached, the PTO will switch off automatically.

IMPORTANT: Engage PTO gear only when the engine is shut off.
