Ranges and gears are selected using the range shift lever (A), gear shift lever (B) and forward/reverse lever (C).
NOTE:
Start the engine and wait 5 seconds in neutral before using the forward/reverse lever.
The clutch pedal must be depressed for range changes. The clutch pedal does not need to be used to change gears or direction of travel (forward/reverse).
CAUTION:
The tractor will move if the forward/reverse lever is moved with the engine running and a range engaged.
IMPORTANT:
Apply the park brake only when the tractor is stopped.
Optimum Gear Change for Transporting a Load:
1.
Select an appropriate range to put the load in motion.
|
2.
Engage 1F.
3.
Start and change ranges until the highest range is reached.
4.
Change to higher gears.
Cold Weather Operation
Cold oil (0°C, 32°F) can affect the operation of the forward/reverse lever. At temperatures below -10°C (-14°F), the forward/reverse change may be slow.
In some circumstances, the operator may have to engage the forward/reverse lever several times before tractor will move. When the oil is warm the system will again operate normally.
Emergency Mode
If the forward/reverse lever will not stay in forward or reverse, hold the lever in the desired position to see if tractor will move. If it moves, hold the lever and drive the tractor to the nearest service center.
