Detach the Bucket or Attachment

Hydraulically Operated Attachment (Grapple)

  1. X9811
    X9811-UN-23AUG88

Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Protect hands and body from high-pressure fluids. (See additional information, Avoid High-Pressure Fluids, in Safety section.)

Relieve the hydraulic pressure. (See Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in Controls section.)

  2. W20038
    W20038-UN-15OCT08

    A - Knob

    B - Pin (1 each side)

    C - Attachment Coupler

    D - Lever

    E - Cover

Push in the red knob (A) and rotate the lever (D) forward to disengage pins (B), separating coupler halves.

  3. Remove the attachment coupler (C) from the loader coupler.

  4. Lever (D) must be in the locked UP position when the attachment coupler is removed to avoid interference with tractor components. To protect the connection surface of the loader coupler, lower the cover (E).

    Lower the cover (E).

  5. Rotate the lever (D) around and rearward, locking the lever in the UP position.

500-Style Carrier

  1. The detaching procedure is the same for all attachments, bucket attachment shown.

    W09790
    W09790-UN-25AUG08

    A - Quick-Lock Pin

    B - Storage Position

Retract bucket cylinders and raise the loader approximately 460 mm (18 in) from the ground.

  2. Place the transmission in PARK and shut off the engine.

  3. Remove the quick-lock pin (A) from each side of the bucket.

  4. Store pins in the storage position (B).

  5. W22951
    W22951-UN-29AUG12

    C - Hook

    D - Carrier

    E - Bucket Pin

    F - Carrier Strap

Extend bucket cylinders until the bucket pin (E) releases from the carrier strap (F) on each side of the bucket.

  6. Lower the loader, place the transmission in REVERSE and move away from the bucket. Carrier (D) releases from the hook (C) on each side of the bucket.

Global Carrier (Manual)

  1. The detaching procedure is the same for all attachments, bucket attachment shown.

    W09831
    W09831-UN-04SEP08

    Left-Hand Side

    W22952
    W22952-UN-29AUG12

    A - Latch Lever

    B - Carrier Pin (1 each side)

Raise the loader until the bucket is approximately 400 mm (16 in) from the ground.

  2. Retract bucket cylinders until the bucket rests against the carrier to allow movement of the latch pin.

  3. Place the transmission in PARK and shut off the engine.

  4. Pull the latch lever (A) outward to disengage carrier pins (B) from the bucket, and rotate upward to lock into place.

  5. Place the transmission in NEUTRAL.

  6. W09833
    W09833-UN-04SEP08

    C - Hook (1 each side)

Extend bucket cylinders and lower the loader until carrier brackets clear hooks (C).

  7. Place the transmission in REVERSE and back away from the bucket.

  8. To allow the latch pin to slide into the locked position, retract bucket cylinders.

Skid-Steer Carrier

  1. The detaching procedure is the same for all attachments, bucket attachment shown.

    W08389
    W08389-UN-29NOV06
