Prevent possible injury from accidental lowering of a loader. DO NOT perform service around the front of the tractor with the loader elevated and unsupported. Before lubricating or servicing the loader or tractor, perform the following:
  1. Engage the park brake or place the transmission in PARK.
  2. Lower the loader to the ground.
  3. Shut off engine and remove ignition key.
  4. Relieve hydraulic pressure. (See Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in Controls section.)

Normally, access to the engine compartment and the front of the tractor can be made with the bucket flat on the ground. However, due to tractor size and tire variations, it can be necessary to do one of the following:

  • If equipped with a bucket: Dump the bucket and lower the loader to the ground.
  • If equipped with an attachment: Raise the loader to the required height and place safety stands under the frame of the attachment. Lower the attachment on stands and relieve hydraulic pressure. (See Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in Controls section.)
  • If not equipped with an attachment: Raise the loader to the required height and place safety stands under boom arms. Lower the loader on stands and relieve hydraulic pressure. (See Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in Controls section.)
