Final Inspection and Adjustments

  1. Hardware torque MUST be checked after the first 10 hours of operation and every 50 hours thereafter.

Check the mounting frame hardware. (See First 10 Hours in Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

  2. Lubricate all grease fittings. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

  3. 5X03 series tractors: Exhaust pipe can contact loader hydraulic hoses. Reposition the muffler assembly to prevent damage to the tractor or loader.

    Check the loader operation.

  4. Perform operation check at least three times to help remove the air from hydraulic lines.

Cycle all cylinders at least three times as follows:

    1. Extend lift cylinders and lift the bucket from the ground.

    2. Retract bucket cylinders and lower to the ground.

    C - Hardware, Exhaust Pipe-to-Muffler (5 used)

    D - Cap Screw

5X03 series tractors: Check for clearance between the exhaust pipe and loader hydraulic hoses when raising and lowering the loader. If hydraulic hoses contact the exhaust pipe, perform the following:

    1. Lower the loader to the ground, shut off the engine.

    2. Wait until the muffler and engine cools down.

    3. Loosen the hardware (A—D).

    4. Push the muffler toward the turbocharger and tighten the clamp (A).

    5. Tighten the hardware (B) to specification.

    6. Tighten the hardware (C) to specification.

      Muffler-to-Engine Cap Screw (B)Torque70 N·m (52 lb·ft)
      Exhaust Pipe-to-Muffler Hardware (C)Torque35 N·m (26 lb·ft)

    7. Tighten the cap screw (D).

  6. Repeat as necessary.

  7. Retract bucket cylinders and lower the loader to the ground.

  8. Shut off the engine.

  9. Check the tractor transmission/hydraulic oil level. Refer to the tractor Operator's Manual for more information.)
