Replacing Blade Holder

A - Access Hole

B - Blade Holder

C - Pipe

  1. Remove blades. (See REPLACING BLADES in this section.)

  2. Insert large pry bar or pipe (C) through access hole (A) to stop blade holder from rotating.

  3. Remove and discard cotter pin (D).

  4. Remove nut (E), washer (F) and blade holder (B).

    Tap around hub (B) with a hammer.



  6. Remove blade holder using a puller (shown). If a puller is not available, strike down on blade holder ends from above through hole (A) using a large pry bar or pipe.

  7. Install blade holder, nut and NEW cotter pin in reverse order as removed.

  8. Tighten nut to specification. (See procedure in Tightening Blade Holder Hardware in EVERY 50 HOURS in Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

  9. IMPORTANT: Operating with a loose blade holder will damage the blade holder and shaft. Retighten hardware after one hour of operation and again after the first day. Check torque every 50 hours thereafter.

    Install blades. (See REPLACING BLADES in this section.)
