Fill Gear Case

1. IMPORTANT: Cutter is shipped without gear case lubricant. DO NOT operate the cutter without filling gear case with specified amount of lubricant listed below, or gear case will be damaged. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

   B - Top Ring

   C - Tag

   Remove dipstick (A) and discard tag (C).

2. Fill gear case according to initial fill specifications with John Deere GL-5 GEAR LUBRICANT, or equivalent. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section).

3. Install dipstick into filler hole.

4. IMPORTANT: Oil will move into lower cavity of gear case during initial operation. Check oil level after 30 minute break-in period and every 10 hours or daily afterward.

   After approximately 30 minutes of initial operation, remove dipstick and check oil level.

5. Add oil, if necessary, to top ring (B) on dipstick tube and replace dipstick.
