Disassembling and Inspecting Slip Clutch—MX5 and MX6

A - Ring
B - Compression Spring
C - Ball (3 used)
D - Locking Collar
E - Ring
F - Snap Ring
Remove PTO driveline. (See procedure in this section.)

NOTE: Parts (A—F) are replaced as a kit.
Remove locking collar assembly as follows:
-
Pull back on locking collar (D).

Remove snap ring (F).
-
Remove parts (A—E).
-
NOTE: Belleville springs, which are part of the clutch, keep
tension on all components. When disassembling, release tension by
loosening hardware progressively.

A - Cap Screws and Lock Nuts
Place clutch in vise and remove cap screws and lock nuts
(A) until tension is relieved.

NOTE: Friction disks may appear to be part of the hub or yoke.
Tap disks lightly on edge to separate.

C - Friction Disk (2 used)
D - Hub
E - Clutch Plate
F - Belleville Spring
G - Lock Nut (6 used)
H - Locking Collar
Inspect clutch components for wear or damage. Repair or replace
parts as necessary.
